ADHD/ADD

It is by no means a " trendy disease" that was invented by ambitious parents and fed-up educators. As early as 1845, the neurologist Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann clearly described the signs of ADHD in the well-known children's book "Struwwelpeter".
Symptoms of ADHD and ADD

ADHD and ADD Beginns to occur during childhood, usually with symptoms such as

  • severe motor restlessness (hyperactivity) (in ADHD)
  • impulsive behaviour
  • Restrictions in the area of attention and difficulties in concentrating.

In detail, the following symptoms may occur:

  • Inattentiveness and difficulty concentrating
  • Motor restlessness
  • Hypoactivity
  • Chaos and disorganisation
  • Impulsiveness
  • Mood swings and affective lability
  • Difficulties at school or at work
  • Difficulties in social relationships
  • Self-doubt
  • Forgetfulness
  • Problems with motivation

Symptoms often persist into adulthood, commonly undergoing a change in severity and developing additional symptoms. The main symptoms remain detectable. Especially in adulthood, ADHD/ADD is a major risk factor for numerous concomitant mental disorders, such as addiction, depression and anxiety.
